THE
CLASS OF MY DREAMS AND ITS POST-MORTEM
»

I
was always in search of a class where I could share my views frankly
with a section of people filled with humility till I entered first
year of B.E.in.SRKNEC.
The
first day of college was full of nervousness and anxiety for me. We
were given a speech by the commissioner of police regarding the duties
of an engineer and their experience. We were then introduced to the
members of SRC(Student Representative Council) who gave us information
about the campus of the college by taking each batch of juniors to
the various locations of college. Then, I along with my mates were
forced to attend a class and that too of mind boggling chemistry on
very first day itself .l I was not understanding the topics, but one
guy, Aniruddha Kundu (better known as a CBSE student and who by a
great tragedy is now a member of www.funonthecampus.com) gave the
answers quite correctly. I was very terrified on the very first day
because I could not understand the topic taught at the chemistry laboratory.
Many
days passed away and meanwhile I made pretty good friends as Ashish,
Joydeep, Rao, Aniruddha, Nikhil and Markand to name a few. The atmosphere
in the classroom, during the break specially, was quite exhilarating
where we friends used to gather together and make fun of our teachers.
My fellow classmates were the most interesting and humble human beings
I have ever come across and all my doubts, whatever they were vanished
in the air when I discussed these with my friends.
We enjoyed playing cricket during the break and also during some very
boring periods. In Mahasangram, a tennisball cricket tournament organised
by CESA (Civil Engineering Student Association ), our team "Mastikhor
Kids" created a sensation and entered the finals becoming the
only team of the first year students to enter the finals beating three
teams on the way. Our team was supported fully by my classmates who
did not even hesitate to bunk their classes. This unity along with
our teams hardwork were responsible for such a wonderful performance
by the team lead by Atul Markand (he was playing for VCA, so you can
guess that he was quite professional). Unfortunately, we did not live
upto expections and perished at the finals. But the support of my
classmates including the girls is something which cannot be described
by words.
This
is one of the examples showing unity at it's best. But as it is said,
to every dawn, there is a dusk. The same thing happened to my dream
(i.e. class) as a new session began after the examination. I realised
that my dreams were shattered because I know that I will not be so
lucky to get the same class because of the different branches of my
classmates. I just pray to God that I be bestowed with the section
of good people same as that of the class of my dreams in the near
future too.
